THIS IS FOR THE GROWN AND SEXY MARRIED FOLKS:

FIVE APHRODISIACS TO SET IT OFF THIS

VALENTINE’S DAY

Don’t blow it! (I’m going to come back to this line at the end of the article – just wanted to catch your attention early)

Okay, so you’re going to try out the romance thing this upcoming Valentine’s Day and most of you (hopefully) have been with your spouse for time now, so you’re probably looking for new ways to add a little spice to the bedroom scene. On the eve of the release of a certain film that features some very “Shady” forms of eroticism, I think there may be a great opportunity to cash in on the chance to be a little freaky and encourage sexual intimacy at a heightened sense.

Now there are a thousand ways of doing this that will probably make your head spin, via toys that twirl and venues that would make your mother and father disown you, but that is not my specialty at all. Let’s face it – I stay in my lane when it comes to advice and I am only a lowly physical therapist/nutritionist/personal trainer, so I’m going to give it to you as straight as I’m qualified to do. The other stuff can be researched on the web, or you can just head out to the theaters and experience light ‘porn’ with the rest of the world.

So how do I suggest you make V-Day a great day for both you and your partner? Spice it up with these five foods that are natural aphrodisiacs. I give you the lowdown and the science behind using food to add the flames to your sex game.

  1. Oysters – This is one of the main players in the aphrodisiac world. Not only known to have a high zinc content (builders of T lymphocytes which control and regulate immune responses and attack infected or cancerous cells), oysters also have a reputation for being great for love and fertility because they contain amino acids, which trigger the production of sex hormones. And who couldn’t use a few more of those to get your blood boiling.
  2. Chili Peppers – Speaking of boiling, chili peppers are an invigorating spice who’s bright red color (the symbol for love) also has an exotic reputation of brining fire and flavor to food. Not to mention the orifices of the body where sensory organs for heat and stimulation are most abundant. Heating the body by ingestion this food also elevates your metabolism by forcing the body to work overtime to break it down, while stimulating endorphin release (the brain’s feel good chemicals), accelerating your heart rate, and improving blood and fluid circulation to those ‘special’ areas. This increases sexual organ swelling and growth, and who doesn’t want a little more of both during that time of fun.
  3. Chocolate – While I’m talking about fun, what’s more fun than chocolate? Dark chocolate more specifically doesn’t just taste good, but it is high in antioxidants, which destroys and fends off free radical production thus protecting the body from certain forms of cancer and keeps you feeling good. Confidence is key folks. If you feel good, you perform better. From its taste, to its aroma, dark chocolate has also been shown to cause a spike in dopamine levels which induces feelings of pleasure. Can’t get enough of that on V-Day can you?
  4. Honey – How about not getting enough of honey. If you’ve read my blog before, I’ve pontificated on the wonderful joy of honey and all its hidden benefits. Simply put – don’t sleep on it. Literally! You will wake up sticky. But please do use it any way you want. Honey is made through pollination and is a symbol of procreation. Birds do it, bees do it – I digress, you get the picture. In fact, the word ‘honeymoon’ got its name from mead, an alcoholic beverage made from honey given to the happy new bride and groom. It also contains boron, which helps regulates estrogen and testosterone levels to provide a natural energy boost. No sleeping on the job here folks.
  5. Watermelon – Lastly, no sleeping on the melons. Okay, maybe we could make a couple of exceptions for the fellas, ladies. And while we’re at it, throw in watermelon as well. According to scientific studies, the ‘lycopene king’ may have a Viagra-like effect on the body, as it relaxes blood vessels (the main one that allows blood to flow to give a man a strong erection), thus improving circulation. So cut it, flip it, rub it down and don’t forget to spit out the seeds.

What’s great about all these foods is that they are mainly low in calories and offer healthy side effects beyond just sexual arousal. So take this list and hit your local grocery store soon. When you get back home, get busy.  Enjoy it and do whatever comes to mind, take your time and relax  –  just don’t blow it, unless your partner tells you to.  J

That my spill. Try it, use it, but don’t abuse it. Heck, utilize all five at the same time if you like. And even feel free to leave comments here on the blog when you do. I’d love to hear from you.

Happy V-Day everyone.
